Note to parents:  The last couple of weeks we have had an increase of student contact (hands on each other) mostly starting out in play.  This is seen with typical students as well but they're able to regulate it. Our students lose self-control and it turns into something bigger. I have a strict NO-Hands policy and we are re-visiting this.  Please talk with your child and remind them of this rule and if you can support your own policies and consequences at home.  Thank you.

9:15AM BLOCK 1  MATH (SBAC Practice=4th Graders +khan)

Obective:  Students will continue to work through multi-step problems, be introduced to the range of math exposures that will be present on the SBAC test to come, and increase their reasoning math skills.

BLOCK 2 Literature Groups (SBAC Practice + 2nd Grade DOW)

Activity:  Students are performing math problems, with coaching, by applying the strategies and skills they've already learned.

Assess: Student work samples

Obective (khan):  As of now students are either reviewing or being introduced to the concept of fractions.  Whole piece to part, numerator and denominator.

Activity:  Through a series of short video clips, the students watch and then practice a recorded assessment practice.

Assess: The program assesses and calculates student answers.

BLOCK 2 Literature Groups (SBAC Practice + 2nd Grade DOW)

Each group is tiered to meet the students needs.  As of now we are working in three different groups, 2 focused on the reading, response, and writing demands of the smarter balance test arriving shortly.
