9:15AM BLOCK 1  Nature Cycles

Ebb/FLOW

Objective: Students will watch Goldsworthy's mini doc on earth art and be introduced to the idea of nature, how things change, ebb and flow.

Activity:  Video and Discussion  We will watch a video where he does an installation on a river, to watch the art fade with the tide.  We will then talk about what this means (addressing grief).

Assess: Observations and responses from students.  Small written response.








BLOCK 2 Literature Groups


Objective: Students will read, analyze text.  In this sessions students will answer a writing prompt that is based out the text.

Activity:  Prep students for writing prompt.  Finish chapter (few pages).  Discuss the prompt.  Students will write, then reflect on their writing.  They will use a graphic organizer (story board) to write.

Assess:  Writing Sample


Prompt:  What would happen if you woke up and were suddenly in the Minecraft video game?  Describe the scene (looks, feel, smells, etc.).  Describe an event or action that happens.
