9:00AM BLOCK 1  Counseling Groups & Small group work

Small Group work
 Objective: Students will practice writing a nonfiction draft by using their research notes.
 
Action: Animal research continuation.  We will be taking our notes from our library research and comprising a draft/facts together about the animals, using a paragraph template.  

Asses: Written product (draft).
1st drafting...





10:30 BLOCK 2 Read Aloud & APE 

Objective: Students will listen to the start of a superflex story featuring Braineater.  They will be introduced to this new character and later apply it to the classroom.


 











  BLOCK 3 Introduction to "Proofreading" or "editing"

Objective: Students will gain a general understanding of why and what "revision" or "editing"  means

Activity: Students will watch 2 short video clips that talk about editing and the revision process.  Afterwards the students will practice editing 2 sentences.  The teacher will show the marks for editing and then will model the first sentence.  The students will will try on their own the 2nd sentence and we will (whole class) take turns sharing what we discovered.

Assess:  The second editing sentence and the responses from student.
